2009 Geely CK

The CK is Geely's first offering in a few GCC markets, such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, although it first went on sale in China a couple of years prior. The name "CK" somehow stands for "Freedom Ship" or "Free Cruiser" in Chinese. The CK holds the distinction of being the first Chinese automobile ever displayed at an American auto show, although it has never been allowed to be on sale there. The reasons are that it failed crash tests and emissions regulations. The small car was developed in China, but is supposedly based on a South Korean design by Daewoo. Its 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine is licenced from Toyota. The front-wheel-drive sedan comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic.
