An all-new Ford Explorer came out in 2020. The new chassis has gone back to becoming a proper SUV instead of a crossover, so off-road ability has improved. Under the hood, the standard engine gets a 2.3-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Then there is a hybrid model which gets a 3.3-litre V6 engine combined with an electric motor. The top model is the 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine. All engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Standard features in the 2022 Ford Explorer include power steering, power windows, electric mirrors, cruise control, tri-zone A/C, LED auto headlamps, 8-inch infotainment system, 6 speakers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, cloth seats, 8-way adjustable power driver's seat, power liftgate reverse camera and 18-inch alloy wheels.
