This generation of the Audi A6 was first launched in 2005, and continues for 2009 with a minor facelift. It is available as a sedan and a wagon in this region, along with the RS6, although the wagons seem popular only for fleet duty. The engine range continues to get exceedingly confusing. Available in the front-wheel-drive platform are the 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-4 for the 2.0T as well as the 2.8-litre V6 for the 2.8 model. The Quattro all-wheel-drive platform came the new 3.0-litre supercharged V6 for the 3.0T, while the 4.2-litre V8 and the 5.2-litre S6 are not available in the GCC. The RS6 sedan also joined the range in 2009, with a twin-turbo 5.0-litre V10. The standard transmission on Frontrak front-wheel-drive models is either a CVT with simulated 7-speed functionality, while the all-wheel-drive Quattro models will get a 6-speed automatic, but a manual gearbox will not be offered in the GCC.
