Overview
The A4 has been completely redesigned for the 2009 model year, featuring a new and improved platform, shared with the A5 coupe, that moves engine further back in the engine compartment for better handling balance. The new model is bigger than its predecessor in most dimensions, thus improving cabin space to almost midsize levels. Arriving in the GCC during the first quarter of 2008 only in sedan form, available engines include the weak "1.8T" with two versions of the 1.8-litre turbo 4-cylinder, mated to front-wheel-drive and a CVT automatic, and a "3.2 Quattro" with a 3.2-litre V6 with all-wheel-drive and 6-speed automatic. A couple of "2.0T" models joined the line-up by 2010, with two different 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engines, one with front-wheel-drive and the other with more power and all-wheel-drive.
