The second generation Volkswagen Tiguan came as a 2017 model. It's 60mm longer, while the wheelbase has stretched by 77mm as a result of moving the front and rear axles closer to the extremities of the car. Width, too, is expanded by 30mm, when compared to the previous generation. There are two 4-cyinder turbocharged engines in the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, one a 1.4-litre and the other a 2.0-litre but available in two different states of tune. The front-wheel-drive 1.4 engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic 'DSG' gearbox, whereas the all-wheel-drive 2.0 gets the 7-speed 'DSG' gearbox. The 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan has seating for five, with a split-folding 60:40 rear bench, and has multiple position settings for the seatback.
