2010 Volkswagen Golf

The VW Golf has reached its sixth generation, although receiving largely an exterior facelift on the outside. Under the skin, many new features can be found that improves the Golf MK6 as a driver's car. Most noticeable is the new corporate front-end with the black-out grille, while the rest of the car is very similar to the outgoing model. The Golf VI gets a choice of two engines on debut, namely a carryover 1.6-litre 4-cylinder and a 1.4-litre TSI 4-cylinder, the latter of which uses both supercharging and turbocharging. Both models can be had with either a manual gearbox or a new 7-speed DSG automanual transmission. The interior is very similar to the previous Golf, but some new bits include the steering wheel, 'climatronic' a/c and better noise reduction. The Golf is offered as a 2-door or a 4-door, in Trendline, Comfortline and Highline trim levels.
