2018 Renault Zoe

While at first glance the Renault Zoe may appear to be a regular econo-hatchback, it is a bespoke design with squinty headlights and intricate tail lamps. The cabin is all hard plastic, but the design is space-age, from the LCD gauges to the unique seats. The electric motor seems to offer adequate acceleration for city driving. The brakes are very strong, if a little uneven-feeling, probably because they are of the regenerative variety, sending energy back to the battery every time you brake hard. Depending on the type of charger and socket, it can take between 2 hours to 25 hours to charge the full battery. There isn't any engine noise, therefore road and wind noise are obviously more noticeable. Two models are available - a short-range model with a range of 80 km, while the long-range model can go up to 300 km. Only the long-range model will be offered in the GCC. Both models have a top speed of 140 kph making it just about suitable for highways.
