Overview
The new Porsche Cayman, like the Boxter, has been completely redesigned for 2013. There are four models currently offered, the Cayman, Cayman S, Cayman GTS and Cayman GT4. The mid-engined coupe is now wider and has a longer wheelbase. Delivering more power and better fuel economy, the flat-six cylinder engines is mounted just in front of the rear axle, surrounded by its lightweight aluminium and steel body. The Cayman is powered by a new 2.7-liter engine and the 3.4-liter engine is in the Cayman S with a choice of 6-speed manual or 7-speed "PDK" automanual. The Cayman GTS also gets a 3.4-litre flat-6 engine, but tuned for slightly more power and gets Porsche's adaptive chassis system as standard. The Cayman GT4 gets a 3.8-litre flat-6 engine and comes only with a 6-speed manual transmission.
