2009 Mitsubishi Lancer

The popular 7th-generation Lancer, receiving a major facelift in 2004, uses three four-cylinder engines, namely a 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre in the basic models, while a 2.0-litre Ralliart Edition was briefly available before being dropped in 2008. The aging non-Ralliart variants are so popular that they continued to be sold alongside the all-new 2008 Lancer EX. The 1.3-litre has a choice of a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic. The 1.6-litre has a choice of a manual or automatic. The 2.0-litre came exclusively with an automatic gearbox. None of the engines are particularly sporting.
