The basis for the Mazda CX-5's new look is the company's new "KODO Soul of Motion" design theme, with a new front-end that features a five-point grille and new signature wings. Inside, the 5-seater cabin offers features such as a 4:2:4 three-way split-folding rear seat. As far as the upholstery goes, leather and two kinds of fabric are available for the seats and trim in two colours. The soft-touch material adopted for the majority of dash surfaces and door trim is offset by a central panel featuring glossy piano-black treatment. The only engine available is a direct-injection 2.0-litre "SKYACTIV-G" 4-cylinder that has a 13:1 compression for more torque, better fuel economy and lower emissions, although slightly detuned compared to the motors offered in Western countries.
