2010 Ford Shelby GT500

Created by Ford's SVT team, the updated-for-2010 Shelby GT500 is the most powerful car you can buy at its price. Powered by a supercharged and intercooled 5.4-litre DOHC V8 engine, it comes with a 6-speed manual,and a new final drive ratio changed from 3.31 to 3.55 for better acceleration. For 2011, Ford switched to an aluminium engine block, making it 55 kg lighter while adding 10 hp. Features include a twin-disc clutch to improve driveability, a resonator to reduce the supercharger whine, a domed aluminium bonnet to help in cooling, and a conical air filter for better breathing. The suspension system remains independent at the front and live-axle at the rear. Brakes, suspension and steering have also been improved. The GT500 gets Goodyear F1 Supercar tyres and aluminium wheels. The coupe gets forged 19-inch rims while the convertible gets cast 18-inch ones.
