Overview
The Denza B5 is a bold new entrant in the premium off-road SUV space, blending BYD’s hybrid technology with rugged design and versatility. Known in China as the Fangchengbao Bao 5, it will be rolled out globally under the Denza marque.
Powertrain & Range
The B5 uses BYD’s DMO (Dual-Mode Off-Road) Super Hybrid architecture: a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with two electric motors (one on each axle) for full all‐wheel drive. Combined output is rated at 505 kW and 760 Nm of torque.
Battery capacity is 31.8 kWh (Blade LFP battery), enabling a pure electric range of approximately 100 km (WLTC). In hybrid mode (petrol + electric), the B5 claims a total driving range exceeding 1,200 km. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kph is quoted at 4.8 seconds.
Fast charging is supported at 100 kW DC, helping recharge the battery more quickly when needed.
