2007 Daihatsu Charade

The Charade disappeared from local markets years ago, only to reappear 2006, looking almost the same as it did a decade ago, and disappearing in a year. Despite its small size, the Daihatsu tries to put most people in a comfortable driving position, with a host of adjustment features such as a seat slide mechanism, a tilt steering wheel, seat height adjustment, and adjustable seat belt anchors. It also has a fair luggage-carrying capacity, though there is a shortage of smaller storage areas. An extensive list of safety features includes dual air bags, built-in impact absorbing material to cushion heads from impact and the use of high-strength steel plates, among others. This lightweight hatchback is powered by a tiny 1.0-litre 3-cylinder motor that chugs the car along with little fuel consumption. A five-speed manual is standard, and four-speed auto is optional.
