Overview
The Audi A3 Sedan is the German brand's sub-compact sedan offering. It will be available with two engine choices, either a 1.4-litre or a 1.8-litre, both of which are 4-cylinder and turbocharged units. While the 1.4-litre is only available in front-wheel drive format, the 1.8-litre can be had with all-wheel drive. The front-wheel drive versions get a 7-speed DSG automatic transmissions and the all-wheel drive model gets the 6-speed DSG. Standard equipment include power steering, power windows, power mirrors, daytime running headlamps, start-stop system, manual A/C, fabric seats, central locking, cruise control, entertainment system with Bluetooth and 8 speakers, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The higher models get leather seats, automatic A/C, sports seats, HID headlamps, headlight washers, sports suspension, fog lights and 17-inch alloy wheels. Safety features include electronic stability control, ABS with EBD as well as front and side airbags with knee airbags.

Known Problems
In the US, there were recalls for the front passenger airbag unintendedly deactivating itself, rear center headrest detaching during a crash, improperly secured fuel line which may cause a leak, incorrectly welded rear seat guide sleeves and ECU software causing the engine to stall. Hesitantly shifting transmission requires a software update.
