2003 Mitsubishi Outlander

More a tall wagon than a true off-roader, the Outlander is based on the Lancer platform and uses a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine that mates to a four-speed automatic transmission only. The all-wheel-drive system splits the torque evenly between the front and rear under normal driving conditions, and distributes it wherever necessary when the going gets slippery. It does not have he equipment to be a serious off-roader. Basic features include an AM/FM radio cassette player with 4 speakers, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, power steering, power windows, central locking, keyless entry, 16-inch alloy wheels and power mirrors. The higher models can be optioned out with cruise control, 6-CD changer with 6 speakers, and leather seats. The Outlander is gutsy for a four-cylinder, but far from quick.
