Overview
Mercedes-Benz GLC replaced the GLK back in 2016. It gets a whole new exterior design. The interior gets a wide centre console and a screen sticking out on top of the A/C vents. It is said to be more spacious than the GLK, thanks to the 11.8 cm longer wheelbase. It is also 80 kg lighter than the GLK, thanks to a mix of different materials used to make the body which includes aluminium and high-strength steels. In 2020 it got a slight facelift and a better infotainment system. Under the hood, the GLC200 and GLC 300 get a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine with two different tunes, both available only in four-wheel drive (4Matic). Power is delivered via a 9-speed automatic transmission. In 2020, the engine became a mild hybrid, due to the addition of a small battery to aid performance and fuel economy.
