Overview
The McLaren 650S is based on the 12C but with 25% new parts. The 650S comes with a carbon-fibre tub chassis, bespoke 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, an adaptive hydraulic suspension system, an air-brake spoiler, various driving modes and even an F1-developed brake-steer system. Using absolutely no parts from other manufacturers, the McLaren can be fully customised. Standard safety features include front, side-curtain and knee airbags, ABS and defeatable stability control. Interestingly, McLaren offers future power and feature upgrades for free to all owners. Also, the body is customisable to any unique shapes, up to a point, because they are just moulded "SMC" composite panels attached to the chassis.
