Hyundai Genesis 2013 Overview

The Hyundai Genesis sedan got a minor facelift for 2012, the most obvious change being the LED running lights in the headlights. For 2013, the Hyundai Genesis added the direct injection 3.8-litre "GDI" V6 engine in their line-up, adding to the regular 3.8-litre "MPI" V6 option. The engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. A limited-to-1200-worldwide Genesis Prada model was also made available, with a 4.6-litre "MPI" V8 and unique leather upholstery. The interior gets a new 8-inch display with a user-interface, integrated with a joystick-type function. The Genesis sedan offers a host of upscale luxury features including Smart Cruise Control, adaptive HID headlights, air suspension and a Lexicon CD audio system with iPod input and 17 speakers. Further features include a power rear sunshade, automatic electronic parking brake, proximity key and push button starter, leather upholstery, eight parking sensors with optional reverse camera, soft-touch instrument panel with woodgrain accents, Bluetooth hands-free mobile phone interface, rain-sensing wipers, sunroof, and a choice of 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels. Safety aspects include front, side and curtain airbags, as well as active head restraints, stability control and big ABS-assisted disc brakes. The Genesis is a full-size luxury sedan competing in price with small and medium-sized models from established luxury marques, but Hyundai not having its own premium brand may be a downer for upscale buyers.
