2026 Ferrari 296 GTS

The Ferrari 296 GTB ushers in an authentic revolution for Ferrari as it introduces a new engine type to flank the marque's multi-award-winning 8- and 12-cylinder power units: a new 3.0- litre turbocharged V6 coupled with an electric motor. This is the first 6-cylinder engine installed on a road car sporting the Prancing Horse badge.

Power is delivered via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The following year, the Ferrari 296 GTS made its debut, which is the convertible version. The transition to the open-topped format necessitated some extensive reengineering of the car, with the first step being to recoup some of the rigidity lost by lopping off the roof.

The main focus here was to strengthen the lower side sills and A- and B-pillars, but Ferrari said this added only about 5 kg to the car, with the folding roof and its electrohydraulic mechanism adding another 65 kg.
