Overview
The Dodge Challenger debuted in 2008, went on sale in the GCC by 2010, and has already been upgraded for the 2011 model year. The Challenger utilises retro styling that is largely a rethinking of the original 1970s Challenger's 2-door design. From this version, the Challenger became available in V6-powered base trim and top-spec V8-powered SRT-8 trim in the GCC. Sharing its platform, engine and mechanicals with other fullsize rear-wheel-drive Chrysler cars, the Challenger packs either a 3.6-litre V6 mated to a 5-speed automatic, or a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 mated to a 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual. In 2013, the Challenger R/T was introduced in this region, which comes with a 5.7-litre V8 engine, mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Standard features in the V6 include sporty suspension, cloth upholstery, alloy wheels, keyless entry with starter button, CD/MP3 stereo, power accessories and not much else.
