2009 Volkswagen Polo

The VW Polo recently received a fresh redesign and upgraded equipment. The Polo, though simply a sub-compact hatchback, has a more upmarket feel, thanks to judicious use of materials. High quality interiors are synonymous with Volkswagen, and the high quality plastics and fabrics found in the Polo is no exception. Standard equipment includes a CD stereo system, along with power windows and other electricals. Sadly, the only available powerplant in the Polo is the 1.4-litre four-cylinder unit. Available with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox, this engine kills the upscale illusion. The new Polo includes standard safety systems such as ABS brakes, Hydraulic Brake Assist, and dual front airbags. Side airbags, a curtain airbag system and Electronic Stabilisation Programme are optional. The Polo also has high levels of torsional rigidity, leading to improved crash performance, impressive refinement and driving dynamics.
