Overview
The Eos is a hard-top convertible version of the Golf hatchback. Facelifted for 2012 with a new front-end, it features a five-piece retractable hardtop. The car can somewhat seat four people, with good luggage room when the top is up. Its four-wheel independent suspension and relatively long wheelbase give it a nice ride along with good stability and handling. The Eos is available in the GCC with only one engine now, namely a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder, with a choice of manual or DSG automanual gearboxes, although most dealers are likely to stock the DSG version only. Depending on trim level, the Eos can be outfitted with a touchscreen CD/MP3 stereo, convertible-specific Climatronic a/c, electric windows, alloy wheels, multi-functturning, HID headlights, "ion" display, keyless entry and start, navigation, cruise control, Bluetooth phone and a second-generation Park Assist system with ParkPilot.
