2009 Subaru Forester

The Forester, after many years being Subaru's compact crossover wagon-like 4WD, has been completely redesigned for 2009 with a more SUV-like appearance. The new Forester is larger in every way than its predecessor, improving cargo capacity and rear-seat legroom. Subaru continues to offer standard all-wheel-drive, while the only engine choice for the GCC is the 2.5-litre flat-6 engine. Subaru's 'symmetrical' AWD uses an electronically-controlled multi-plate transfer clutch system to actively manage power distribution on all four wheels, working in conjunction with the standard stability control system. While not a true offroader, ground clearance and approach angles have been increased for the new model.
