Porsche Cayenne 2021 Overview
An all new Porsche Cayenne came out for 2018. The variants initially available were the Cayenne, Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo. The entry-level Cayenne gets a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine. The Cayenne S gets a new 2.9-litre turbo V6. The Cayenne Turbo gets a 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine. Later on, an E-Hybrid model joined the lineup which got a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine combined to an electric motor. In 2021, the Cayenne GTS was added, getting a 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 motor. All engines get an 8-speed automatic transmission. Porsche updated the interior of the Cayenne by doing away with many buttons and by replacing them with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a few touch-capacitive controls. The interior retains the analog tachometer which now comes with two 7-inch color displays on either sides that read out driver information. The new Cayenne comes with a list of goodies that are offered in other Porsche products. Rear wheel steering, a Porsche Active Suspension Management system for “finer degree of specific calibration” of the air suspension, a new Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control that uses a 48-volt electrical system and a new semi-autonomous driving tech called Innodrive are a few of them. Features available on the Cayenne optional two-tone or body-colour leather upholstery, 40:20:40 split rear seat with front-back movement, power front-seat adjustment with optional memory feature, optional adaptive sports seats, cruise control, navigation, Bluetooth, cruise control with optional distance-control function, optional lane-change monitor, parking sensors with optional back-up camera, wheel sizes from 18-inch to 21-inch and higher quality audio systems. Safety features are thankfully standard, including front and side airbags, tyre pressure monitor, ABS and stability control, with various other optional electronic aids.
