2009 Hyundai I30

Quietly put on the showroom floor by local Hyundai dealers, the unknown i30 is a new-for-2008 hatchback alternative to the Elantra. Powered by a 1.6-litre or a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder, the i30 is being positioned as a cheaper alternative to better-equipped compact Japanese and European rivals. It is available with only a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The i30 benefits from a spacious-enough interior and the flexibility of a hatchback cargo area, especially with the folding rear seatback. Standard features are limited, with height-adjustable front seats, 60/40 split rear seats, cloth or partial leatherette seats, power windows, electric mirrors, body-coloured exterior trim and LED cabin lighting.
