2007 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

Named after Ferrari coachbuilder Sergio Scaglietti, the all-aluminum 612 Scaglietti attempts to blend performance and comfort in the tradition of a true Ferrari berlinetta designed to accommodate four people. This Ferrari is a 12-cylinder model with both the space-frame chassis and body panels in aluminium. The overall layout, with the 5.7-litre engine mounted behind the front axle and the gearbox in line with the differential at the rear, ensures an ideally balanced weight distribution, as well as permitting a lower centre of gravity. The performance-orientated handling is enhanced by active damping and a new stability and traction control system, with components from General Motors subsidiaries no less. The 612 runs with a six-speed mechanical gearbox, in a choice of manual or F1-style paddle shifts.
