2014 BYD S6

Looking to ring bells in the midsize-SUV market is the BYD S6. Entering the GCC market, the S6 fights for space alongside dominant Japanese and Korean rivals. Under the hood, it gets a 2.4-litre engine. However, it is coupled to a dated 4-speed automatic. The interior is pretty plush for its price range though, and on offer is a 4.2-inch TFT speedometer, multi-information display screen, leather steering wheel with mounted controls, dual-zone A/C and Smart key system. Tick a few more boxes and the S6 receives a DVD system with a 7-inch touch screen and 9-speaker audio system. As for safety, the S6 comes standard with ABS and EBD and dual front airbags. Higher models get curtain airbags, rear parking sensors and rear-view camera parking system. The S6 is only on offer in select countries across the GCC including UAE, Oman and Kuwait.
