2012 BYD F6

The F6 was the second model to join the Chinese BYD range. The midsize sedan is slightly smaller than the class average, even if the derivative styling uses cues from Japanese stalwarts. Powered by a choice of Mitsubishi-designed 2.0-litre or 2.4-litre 4-cylinder engines, both can be had with a 5-speed manual, although the larger engine, which comes with Mitsubishi's MIVEC variable-valve timing technology, can also be mated with an outdated 4-speed automatic with tiptronic function. Available features include an 8-way adjustable driver's seat, tilt-and-telescoping multi-function steering wheel, power windows, electric mirrors and cruise control. Also available are cloth or leather upholstery with wood trim. Safety features include ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, seat-mounted side airbags and protective beams in the doors. BYD is only available in some GCC countries, including UAE, Kuwait and Oman.
