The 2025 BMW X4 20i and X4 xDrive30i feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with two different tunes. Both are available with a standard 8-speed sport automatic. The 2025 BMW X4 M40i is available with a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 cylinder motor, mated to an 8-speed auto transmission as well.
In 2022, the X4 got a slight facelift and the engines got mild hybrid technology for better performance and fuel economy.
