2012 Seat Ibiza

The Spanish-built Seat Ibiza is based on the VW Polo and even shares engines and gearboxes, but with a completely unique exterior and interior. In the Middle East, this front-wheel-drive is offered in 3-door or five-door hatchback as well as "Ibiza ST" station-wagon body styles. As the VW-owned company is nearly inactive in promoting the brand in the GCC, drivetrain availability is vague, although numerous VW-derived powerplants can be optioned up, including a 1.4-litre and a 1.6-litre, all 4-cylinder engines, the former with a 5-speed manual and the latter with either a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automanual. The sporty FR and Cupra models both get 1.4-litre "twin" supercharged-turbocharged 4-cylinder engines with 7-speed DSG automanual gearboxes.
