Porsche Panamera 2016 Overview

The Porsche Panamera received a facelift for its 2014 model, as well as some engine updates and introduction of new variants. The 'Gran Turismo' has expanded to a confusing 10 different versions now, not including the Turbo S which will return later. This includes the base Panamera, Panamera Diesel, Panamera 4, Panamera S, Panamera 4S, Panamera 4S Executive, Panamera S E-Hybrid, Panamera GTS, Panamera Turbo and Panamera Turbo Executive. All come with a 7-speed PDK automanual gearbox except for the S E-Hybrid which gets an 8-speed automatic, while the 4 V6, 4S and Turbo feature all-wheel-drive. The base 3.6-litre V6 model can also be had with a 6-speed manual. The Panamera S is no more a V8 and has been replaced with a more fuel-efficient and faster V6 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine. The Panamera GTS still has the 4.8-litre V8 engine. Also newly introduced is the S E-Hybrid model which gets a V6 supercharged 3.0-litre engine combined with an electric motor. The Panamera Diesel also seems to have been introduced for the UAE market for the first time, featuring a turbocharged V6 3.0-litre engine. The 'Executive' models are 150 mm longer wheelbase than the standard size. All versions come with Porsche's new fuel-saving start-stop function. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is a standard feature on the Turbo and an option on the Panamera S and 4S, with adjustable damping for the adaptive air suspension. In the Sport Plus Mode, the Panamera is lowered by 25 mm. The Panamera comes on 18-inch and 19-inch wheels, with 20-inch aluminium wheels available as an option. Available on the Panamera Turbo is an active adjustable rear spoiler. The four-seater Panamera boasts a unique leather-draped interior, with four sports seats and useable cargo room. Optional is a four-zone automatic a/c with individual adjustments for each seat. The Panamera S and 4S come with the "CDR" stereo as standard, while the Turbo is equipped with "PCM" multimedia computer, with navigation optional on the other two models. As an option, rear passengers can enjoy two consoles integrated in the headrests of the front seats with swivelling 7-inch touchscreens. Safety features include the usual cocoon of airbags, electronic stability control and ABS.
