2009 Nissan Patrol

The Patrol is Nissan's most capable 4WD in its lineup. It is smaller than the Armada, but still big enough to qualify as a big 4WD. It has garnered a reputation as an excellent off-road vehicle in the Middle East, even though it has been fighting a losing battle with the overrated Toyota Land Cruiser for decades now. It is also popular for its smooth on-road ride, though its handling leaves a lot to be desired. The latest engine is a 4.8-litre inline six-cylinder, alongside the older 4.5-litre inline-six which eats more fuel, and the frugal diesel 4.2-litre inline-six. A new five-speed automatic with manual sequential shift facility is available on petrol models alongside the manual. The latest updates give the Patrol an edgier new front end and freshened rear end.
