Continuing to be based on a joint platform with Mazda, the Focus remains one of the best handling cars in its class, getting a makeover for the 2008 model year. It comes in two different body styles, namely a sedan and a five-door hatchback. The Focus is a popular car in Europe where it is built, and is fairly well-built at that. Both the versions cost the same, but all are available in various trim levels. The standard motor is an anaemic 1.6-litre 4-cylinder engine, while the top engine is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder. Features include electro-hydraulic power steering, and choice of a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed automatic.
