2004 Dodge Durango

The latest Durango has been redesigned, mostly with a minor facelift, and it appears to be a well-built light duty 4WD capable of transporting seven people almost anywhere in very comfortable surroundings. The only engine option available here is the 5.7-litre, Hemi V8, which helps the two-and-a-half ton Durango move off with reasonable verve. It's interior design conserves space, which permits a 3rd row of relatively accessible seating.

It is obvious that parent company Mercedes-Benz has had an influence on Dodge. The seams are tight and the materials are of a high quality. The ergonomics work well too, with all the minor luxuries, including a good sound system and a rear seat DVD-entertainment system. Excellent sound insulation means passengers aren't too distracted by road or wind noise, while the third row folds flat into the floor and the 2nd row folds up and out of way very easily.
