Overview

The BMW X1 is the smallest crossover SUV in the German brand. It got a facelift in 2013. Based on the 1-Series platform, complete with four-wheel-independent suspension and disc brakes, the X1 is their first SUV to be available in rear-wheel-drive form with the sDrive18i base model, sporting a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine. The other two models in the range are the all-wheel-drive xDrive25i and the xDrive 28i, both fitted with a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine in different states of tune, one with more power than the other. The interior features a new melted-look dashboard, with optional integrated iDrive that includes either the 6.5-inch Business or the 8.8-inch Professional navigation systems. Other available features, depending on trim level, includes various alloy wheels, Bluetooth phone, dual-zone a/c, sunroof, cloth or leather upholstery, HID headlights, run-flat tyres, rear parking sensors, keyless entry, cruise control, immobiliser and the usual power accessories.
