The 2025 BMW X4 20i and X4 xDrive30i feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with two different tunes. Both are available with a standard 8-speed sport automatic. The 2025 BMW X4 M40i is available with a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 cylinder motor, mated to an 8-speed auto transmission as well.
In 2022, the X4 got a slight facelift and the engines got mild hybrid technology for better performance and fuel economy. Standard features in the 2025 BMW X4 include power steering, power windows, electric mirrors, leather seats, automatic A/C and FM radio and entertainment system with USB/iPod/Bluetooth support.

Few owners reported hesitation problem on the 4 cylinder models but it is just turbo lag, door seal failure leading to wind noise, and the turbo wastegate which has noise issues.
