The Ford Flex was launched in the summer of 2008 as a new-for-2009 model. Touted as a crossover, it is more of a boxy-shaped minivan alternative. Offered in various trim levels, the Flex is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a choice of front-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive. Airy and spacious, It offers four forward-opening doors, seating for six or seven depending on chosen options, and can be had with a refrigerator, dual panoramic sunroofs, cruise control, common power accessories, capless fuel-filler, HID headlights and LED tails, two-tone paintjob, programmable interior LED lighting, 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels, 10-speaker Sony stereo, and Ford's new Sync multimedia system which can connect and control any Bluetooth phone or USB music player. Safety features include Advance Trac with Roll Stability Control, multiple front and side airbags and ABS brakes.
