First Look: 2025 Bentley Flying Spur: Most Powerful Bentley Sedan Ever with New Hybrid V8
Bentley has unveiled the 2025 Bentley Flying Spur, which marks the end of the iconic W12 engine and the introduction of a powerful hybrid V8. The new Flying Spur produces a staggering 771 horsepower, making it the most powerful sedan in Bentley’s history. This hybrid powertrain outshines its predecessor in every category, delivering improved performance and efficiency.
Bentley Flying Spur engine specifications
The heart of this luxury sedan is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 paired with a 25.9 kWh battery, producing 187 horsepower on its own. Together, the system generates 771 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque, a 19% increase in horsepower and 11% more torque than the outgoing W12 model. The Flying Spur can sprint from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.3 seconds, half a second quicker than before. It also offers a pure electric range of up to 75 km, ideal for city driving, with a top electric speed of 140 kph.
The hybrid system extends the total range to 830 km for long-distance cruising. Bentley has included four battery-specific driving modes, including Pure EV and Electric Boost. Recharging takes about two hours and 45 minutes using a Level 2 charger, offering practicality alongside performance.
Suspension and handling
Bentley’s updated Active Chassis system enhances the Flying Spur’s handling. This system includes all-wheel steering, an adaptive suspension, and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. The weight distribution is balanced at 48.3 percent at the front and 51.7 percent at the rear, contributing to an improved driving experience.
Exterior design
Visually, the 2025 Flying Spur retains Bentley’s signature design language, with only subtle updates. The front features a new Speed-specific grille and a redesigned bumper with aggressive vents. Bentley offers an aero package in carbon-fibre or body-coloured paint for those looking for extra flair.
Interior
Inside, the Flying Spur offers the latest technology upgrades. A new digital instrument cluster, updated touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are standard. The vehicle also supports over-the-air updates, allowing for future software enhancements. Bentley’s My Bentley App Studio introduces the ability to download third-party apps for entertainment and navigation.
For audiophiles, the standard 10-speaker, 650-watt audio system can be upgraded to a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen setup or a 19-speaker system with 2,200 watts. Active Bass Transducers built into the seats provide a deeper sound experience. Bentley has also enhanced cabin comfort, with laminated glass reducing interior noise by nine decibels compared to the previous model.
Bentley Flying Spur price
Although pricing for the 2025 Flying Spur hasn’t been announced, the 2024 version used to start at around AED 850,000 in the UAE, so expect the new model to be more than that. The 2025 Bentley Flying Spur could arrive at dealerships in the UAE & GCC at the beginning of next year.
