First Look: 2025 Nissan Patrol launched in the UAE
The 2025 Nissan Patrol has been launched globally in the UAE. While it may be a global launch, there probably is no other region that enjoys the Patrol’s level of popularity than the GCC, and Nissan certainly kept that in mind when designing the newest version.
Exterior
The Patrol Y63 has an entirely new chassis and has grown in size. The exterior dimensions have increased by 35 mm in length and width.
A much more prominent V-motion grille flanks the double C-shaped headlights. The side profile certainly bears similarities with the Y62 Patrol. The window line between the C-pillar and D-pillar is now rising more prominently. The pillars are also black, giving it a floating roof look. The rear features vertical taillights, going back to the Y61 style.
Like the previous generation, the new Patrol Y63 will have two bumper styles: the off-road bumper, which gives a better approach angle, and the city bumper. The top model gets 22-inch alloy wheels.
Interior
Inside, the change is more drastic. Two 14.3-inch screens dominate the dashboard—one for the instrument cluster and the other for the infotainment system.
Also, more sound-deadening material between the engine and the cockpit contributes to a quieter cabin.
The gear lever is gone, replaced by black piano-style buttons featuring P, R, N, and D. Paddle shifters have been added for the first time in the Patrol. The higher models get massage seats, a first for the Nissan Patrol.
A panoramic sunroof is now available for the first time in the Nissan Patrol.
The 2025 Patrol gets Nissan Connect, which has Google built-in. This is especially useful for navigation, as the system has the latest map information. Google Assistant is also available to give voice commands to the system, such as for making calls or controlling the AC temperature.
My Nissan App can be used on the new Patrol. The app allows you to control car functions such as remote start, headlights, horn, and windows.
It also has a “Car finder” if you lose your car, for example, at the mall. Another feature of the app is that it sends alerts in case you leave any doors or windows open.
Nissan Patrol Y63 Engine specifications
Two new engines are offered under the hood. The base engine is a 3.8-litre naturally aspirated engine that produces 316 hp and 386 Nm of torque. Fuel economy is said to be 9.7 km/litre.
The other engine is a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 425 hp and 700 Nm of torque and has a fuel economy of 10.1 km/litre.
Both engines are connected to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The new Nissan Patorl will now have 6 drive modes to choose from.
Testing in the UAE
The Nissan Patrol has been mostly tested in Abu Dhabi. Liwa’s harsh desert conditions were used to test the new Patrol’s capabilities.
They built a bigger cooling system to withstand better hot weather conditions.
Also, for the first time, the Nissan Patrol gets air suspension. This increases the level of comfort on and off the road. The car can be lowered for easy access for kids and elderly people and raised for better performance in off-road conditions.
