2023 Lexus UX gets a touchscreen, and a stiffer body

Back in 2015 or 2016, we would have been excited about an economy car getting a touch screen. But even then, touch screens were a given in premium cars. But now, on the premium end of things, we have touchscreen news. 2023 Lexus UX finally gets a touchscreen, waving goodbye to the dreaded touchpad.

Lexus’ touchpad was never loved nor was it praised by anyone. But they stuck with it for a while but in the sea of tech-laden crossovers, the UX now looks spartan. To bring it up to speed, the 2023 Lexus UX gets a touchscreen, measuring 12.3-inches or 8-inches depending on the trim.

Apart from the larger screen, the 2023 Lexus UX gets more enhancements in that department. There are additional USB ports for charging and a larger wireless charging pad. The most notable change is the absence of the touchpad. Frankly, no one is going to miss that. To up the ante, LED ambient lighting is thrown in as well.

There are some more changes in the 2023 Lexus UX that you cannot put a finger on. Lexus says that there are now 20 additional weld points on its body to improve rigidity. All mechanicals are now refined for improved comfort and dynamics. New run-flat tires help all this by adding quietness to the cabin.

The higher UX F Sport models benefit from an adaptive variable suspension and performance dampers developed by Yamaha. It also gets sports seats, aluminum pedals, a scuff plate, and a footrest along with an exclusive shift knob.
