2019 Honda Passport fits in between CR-V and Pilot

Honda figured there is enough room for a new SUV to slot in between the compact CRV and the kinda-large Pilot. Here is the 2019 Honda Passport, reviving a model name from the ’90s.

The design of the Passport fits right into the Honda SUV portfolio with a very close resemblance to the bigger Pilot, albeit with a more uneven profile.

It is powered by a 280 hp 3.5-litre V6 mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. This power is fed to the front wheels as standard but buyers can opt for the i-VTM all-wheel-drive system which is an advanced torque vectoring system that sends up to 70 percent of the torque to the rear wheels when needed. It can also split power between left and right wheels to aid during light off-roading.

As the Passport has just two rows of seats, there is plenty of room at the back for luggage, 1166 litres of it.

Standard tech like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and mobile WiFi are included. The fully loaded models will get an infotainment system with 8-inch screen, pumping out 590 watts. Safety systems like automatic emergency braking and forward-collision warning, lane-departure alerts, and lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise, cross-traffic alert are also offered.

The Passport has not been confirmed for sale in the UAE and GCC yet, but will go on sale soon in the North America.

  1. It cant be a perfect competitor for Pathfinder…

  2. 2.0T in Accord line up an ideal engine for Passport. Rear tail lamps close to older brother.
