Subaru WRX STI Final Edition says farewell to the UK
When the legendary Mitsubishi Evolution was shown the door quite some time ago, out went the WRX vs Evo memes along with it. And now, the time has come to mourn another loss as Subaru has revealed plans to roll the curtain down on the WRX STI in the UK. To give it a fitting farewell, they’ve announced a Subaru WRX STI Final Edition.
The Final Edition WRX STI gets a set of 19-inch wheels that house larger Brembo brakes which comes with yellow calipers. The front fascia gets a rework in the form of an updated bumper and black lower grill. A badge on the door reads “Final Edition”, announcing the special identity of the car.
Inside, the instrument panel, gear stick surrounds, and door inserts are detailed with gloss black panels. Red detailing is used on the seats, steering wheel, and seat belts to improve the sporty appeal. A plate next to the gearstick shows the number of the car out of the 150 examples that are going to be built. The front seats are heated as standard and there is a 5.9-inch display on top of the dashboard.
Though the availability in the UK ends for now, the WRX STI is expected to continue for a while in other markets. Subaru will be shifting their focus to alternative fuels and new cars built on new platforms, and a new concept just debuted this week, so there is indeed a new model coming.
