2019 Infiniti QX50 revealed with ground-breaking new turbo engine
The all-new 2019 Infiniti QX50 has been revealed, sporting all-new styling cues that debuted with the Q50. It also features a fresh engine with nifty new engineering.
The new “VC-Turbo” engine is touted as the world’s first production-ready variable compression-ratio engine. Making 268 hp and 380 Nm of torque, the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo engine adjusts its compression ratio to optimise power and efficiency, purportedly combining the power of a turbo petrol engine with the torque and efficiency of a diesel engine.
The engine is mated to a CVT automatic, and can be mated to front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. Front-wheel drive models offer a 35% improvement in fuel efficiency over the previous V6, while all-wheel drive models offer a 30% improvement.
New ProPILOT Assist technologies can “control acceleration, braking and steering during single-lane highway driving,” and are available at the push of a button. We assume this is some form of basic autonomous-driving feature.
The cabin has a sliding rear bench for a choice between cargo flexibility and rear legroom. Under-floor storage areas in the boot allow stowage out of sight.
Expect the new model to hit UAE, KSA and other GCC showrooms by the end of 2018.

I think infiniti needs to hire a new designer since the current designer have lost his sense by designing the same look cars since 2009.
