Peugeot RCZ, 3008 & 5008 at Frankfurt show
Two years after showing off the 308 RCZ concept car at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, Peugeot will present the production Peugeot RCZ coupé at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Also debuting alongside the RCZ are the RCZ hybrid concept, the 3008 hybrid concept, the all-new 5008 minivan, and low-emission versions of existing models, namely the 207 ’99g’, 107 ‘106g’, 308 ‘120g’, 407 ‘129g’ and 3008 ‘130g.’
The Peugeot RCZ remains true to the concept, with a double-bubble roof and active rear spoiler, while looking better than the 308 CC. Nevertheless, it does not bring anything remarkable to the table, with three 4-cylinder engine choices, the most powerful of which is a new turbocharged 1.6-litre “THP” motor with only 200 hp. European sales are slated to begin in the spring of 2010.
A concept version of the RCZ will be displayed yet again, this time the RCZ HYbrid4, featuring hybrid-diesel technology. Alongside it will be the 3008 HYbrid4 concept, based on the Peugeot 3008 compact minivan that debuted earlier in the year. The 207 ’99g’, 107 ‘106g’, 308 ‘120g’, 407 ‘129g’ and 3008 ‘130g’ are regular production models with further-lowered emissions.
Also making its debut will be the sharp new Peugeot 5008 minivan. The 5008 incorporates advanced technologies such as a Head-Up Display, Distance Alert, built-in WiFi connection and more. It claims to have dynamic road-holding, with space for five or seven occupants, while being complemented by “a comprehensive range of environmentally-friendly engines and latest-generation driving assistance systems.”
