So we got a 2017 Volkswagen Beetle R-Line
The second generation of the “new” Volkswagen Beetle is a much more interesting car than the one before it, but it’s struggling to make headway in our GTI-loving market. So VW has been offering this R-Line kit for a while now, to spice things up.
The Beetle R-Line’s front fascia features bigger air intakes in the bumper, while the rear gets a lower diffuser and large spoiler, as well as 20-inch “Monterey” alloy wheels.
Inside, it gets two-tone cloth sport seats, a multi-function leather-wrapped steering wheel with R-Line badging and a set of gauges mounted on the top of the centre console, along with R-Line door entry sills.
Based on the old Golf chassis and powered by the old GTI engine, the Beetle is now quite fun to drive. More on that in the full review.
