Chevrolet offers RST kit for Tahoe and Suburban

Chevrolet offers RST kit for Tahoe and Suburban

In the past few months, Chevrolet introduced a few special editions for its cars under the monikers Rally, Redline and Midnight. And now there is a new RST kit for its full-size SUVs – Tahoe and Suburban. But it’s not just a cosmetic treatment like the others. The changes go way deeper than the skin.

The performance of the Tahoe can be spruced up by adding an optional performance pack. This gives the 6.2-litre V8 power ratings of 420 hp and 623 Nm of torque. Chevrolet’s 10-speed automatic transmission comes coupled with this mill, to take the Tahoe from 0-100 kph in less than 6 seconds which is quite an impressive figure for a 2.5-ton body-on-frame SUV. GM’s Magnetic Ride Control suspension also comes with the performance pack. And to top it all off, it can tow 3810 kg.

Chevrolet will also offer optional six-piston inch Brembo brake calipers that work on the 16-inch rotors. A Borla exhaust at the back can added as well. The Suburban customers though, will miss out on the performance package. The brakes and the exhaust are the only performance modifications that can be done to the biggest SUV in Chevrolet’s lineup. But for both models, a few cosmetic additions like the 22-inch wheels, body coloured grill surrounds, black bow-tie badge and a lot more come standard with the RST kit.

The Chevrolet Tahoe RST and Suburban RST will go on sale late in this year. The pricing will be revealed closer to the launch. Whether is will be offered in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries remains to be seen.
