2018 Honda Odyssey revealed
Honda’s MPV offering, the Odyssey, has been completely revamped for 2018.
The front fascia has looked up to the Honda CR-V for some design inspiration as the new front-grille and headlights prove. The black portion on the D-pillar gives an impression of a floating roof. The window line that drops right in front of the C-pillar to rise again towards the end is retained to offer more glass area for the third-row passengers.
Inside, more technology has been added to the Odyssey. Entertainment has been upped a notch with the addition of an 8-inch touch screen system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. New connectivity features like the CabinControl app that lets rear passengers control the infotainment system and air conditioning via their phones and CabinTalk that the driver can use to talk to the rear passengers without shouting will make life easier for families.
Engine-wise, there are some changes. The new Odyssey is fitted with a reworked version of the current 3.5-litre V6 which now produces 280 hp, 30 hp more than the outgoing model. The new engine also comes with cylinder deactivation to improve fuel efficiency. Gearbox choices include the 9-speed automatic or an all-new 10-speed automatic unit.
The 2018 Odyssey could reach the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries sometime next year.
