Nissan Titan 2017 single-cab pickups revealed
Nissan’s reborn full-size pickup truck, the Titan, receives new body styles for 2017. The versions revealed recently are two single cab models, a first for the Titan.
Both the single-cab models offer 8-foot long cargo beds (2.44 metres) which are considerably bigger than the 1.7-metre bed of the current Titan crew cab. Even though the bed is made to be longer, the overall length of the Titan is preserved due to the absence of a crew cab. The Nissan Titan XD on the other hand, is actually 31 cm shorter than the outgoing model.
Power is derived from the same engine as the current crew cab models. The 5.6-litre V8 will do duty on both these models. The 390 hp engine will be mated to a 7-speed automatic. A 5.0-litre Cummins V8 diesel is also available for the more capable XD version. Regardless of the engine, 4X4 or 4X2 configurations are available.
The new Titan will go on sale in the U.S. soon in S and SV trims. We hear the Titan is under consideration for the GCC market, but that remains to be seen.
