The Handling GT Evoluzione (HGTE) package for the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is now officially available for order. The HGTE package is designed to deliver an “even sportier, more dynamic driving, to highlight the 599 GTB Fiorano’s positioning in the sports car segment,” whatever that means.

The HGTE Package is designed to simply offer sharper handling. The package includes a lowered suspension set-up with stiffer springs and rear anti-roll bar as well as new calibration settings for the “magnetorheological” shock absorbers. Incidentally, those magnetic shocks are sourced from General Motors, although Ferrari will never admit it.

Other modifications include better tyres, reprogrammed F1 gearbox, louder exhaust silencer, 20-inch split-rim wheels, matte-black rear diffuser, and a redone interior with full-grain leather, black alcantara and carbon-fibre trim.

The extra package apparently adds more than Dhs 150,000 to the price of the 599 GTB, which already costs more than Dhs 1 million.

  1. 150K extra over the price wouldnt make a difference.

It is a big amount actually. My friend just bought an F430 Spyder for 815k. Al Tayer, the dealer, asked for almost a million first. My friend refused, and the dealer kept calling him every week with a reduced price, until it reached 815k. Lots of cancelled orders in this recession.

  3. A 430 for a million….seriously!!! I thought it was around 750K.
