2017 Peugeot 2008 facelift set for Geneva show debut

The French car maker, Peugeot has taken the wraps off their new 2008 SUV which is planned to be released at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The 2017 2008 have received a multifaceted grill which flaunts a perpendicular style. The headlamps, roof, roof rails, rear spoiler and rear doors are subjected to little tweaking as well. The addition of scuff plates to protect the bodywork acts as a highlight.

Peugeot have offered a large number of engine options. Five petrol and six diesel motors inundate the buyer with a number of options to choose from. The 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol unit is available in different states of tune. Power varies between 110 hp and 130 hp for the petrol engines. The PureTech 82 mated to a 5-speed transmission is the most efficient powertrain of the lot and it returns a fuel efficiency of 4.4 l/100km. The diesels are frugal too at 3.6 l/100km.

A GT line trim is on offer too, which adds black chrome grille, gloss black accents,black front grille surround, fog light covers, roof bars, wing mirror casings and 17-inch alloy wheels with a gloss black finish to the car’s exterior. The interior of the GT will get stainless steel so plates with GT badging, aluminium pedals and red contrast stitching.

Speaking of the interior, the new 2008 has obtained an Infotainment system that supports both MirrorLink and Apple CarPlay. Peugeot’s iCockpit system has found its way in too. As a part of this, a Grip Control dial sits right in the centre-console which helps the driver to choose between Standard, Snow, All-Terrain, Sand, and ESP Off driving modes. On top of all that, the 2008 is fitted with Active City Brake, a feature that enables the car to brake at low city speeds if it foresees a collision.

Expect the 2017 Peugeot 2008 to arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries sometimes early next year.
